Death of Dr. Julia "Dr. Julie" Wershing

September 20, 2022We were deeply saddened at the news of the death of Dr. Julia Wershing on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was living in Nebraska, USA at the time.
"Dr. Julie", as she was affectionately known in The Bahamas, spent nearly three decades of dedicated service in the field of medicine. Her specialty was paediatrics. She brought her warm, caring personality and professional expertise to the largely (medically) underserved 'over the hill' area in Nassau.
Dr. Julie became the director of the Agnes Hardecker Clinic on Deveaux Street and during her time in The Bahamas, she was assisted by medical student volunteers from the United States. The Hardecker Clinic provided preventative care medicine to its patrons in addition to providing lab services on site. Dr. Julie was recognized for her years of dedicated service to the Bahamian community, and in appreciation, was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
We remember Dr. Julie with immense gratitude for her selfless dedication to the Bahamian community as a whole and for her tireless care and compassion especially for our children. We are profoundly grateful to her.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Dr. Julie's family at this time of loss. We join her family and friends in commending her to the Lord at this time.
May she be granted eternal rest in the Lord's presence.
