Re: Update of Safety Protocols Effective Today's Date _________________________________________________________________________________________
At this time the Archdiocese announces an update of its safety protocols as we continue to move towards a careful, responsible and fazed re-opening of activities at the parish level.
Please note the following:
Beginning on Holy Thursday (April 6, 2023), with start of the Easter Triduum, the Sign of Peace is to be restored to its usual place in the Mass.
On Good Friday (April 7, 2023), the faithful are to bow or genuflect as they venerate the Cross. There is to be no physical contact with the Cross on the part of the faithful during the Act of Veneration.
Holy Water stoups and baptismal fonts should be cleaned and prepared to receive the newly blessed holy water at Easter. Henceforth, they are back in use.
The current protocols for the distribution of Communion in the hand and under one kind, continues in effect for the time being.
Provisions for hand sanitizing should remain in place.
While the mandate for face masks is no longer in place, the choice of parishioners to wear a face mask should be respected by all.
